About the books: First Copy has been signed by the poet in accordance with this edition being "printed and bound for the Canadian Club of Toronto" This is copy 165. Page is starting to separate and the two ensuing pages (title & preface) have separated completely from edition. Second copy is in better condition, however, this copy is not signed by the author, but by Canada's tenth Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King. This copy was inscribed to Lady Tilley, wife of Samuel Leonard Tilley, Father of Confederation. There is also a long inscription/quote written on last page, next to last poem. Unable to determine if this was from King's, Tilley's or someone else's hand. Scarce association copy. William Lyon Mackenzie King was so impressed by Campbell's poetry that he helped bolster funding for the stone bench next to Campbell's grave in Beechwood Cemetery, in Ottawa, Ontario.
