Poet, Marjorie Pickthall was born in Gunnersbury, London, September 14, 1883. She emigrated to Canada when she was seven and died April 22, 1922, in Vancouver, BC., age 38. She is buried in St. James Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario.
Note: The information provided me from the cemetery’s front office leaves me questioning if this is truly her final resting place. She was buried next to her mother, of which neither grave is marked. The office indicated that an “Allen Baines” is buried in the same lot.
Update July 11, 2022: I called the cemetery regarding Marjorie’s brother, John Christopher, who died in infancy in 1894. According to some literature he should be resting next to his mother, who died in 1910. They have no record of him; however, according to their files, which the cemetery cross-referenced with Allen Baines, Marjorie and her mother are indeed buried in this plot.
