John Dick was born in 1906 in Russia. He eventually moved to Canada and worked for the HSR in Hamilton, Ontario. He was reported missing March 6, 1946 and his torso was found 10 days later near the Albion Falls in Hamilton, Ontario. His head and his limbs were never found. It is believed that they were incinerated in the furnace of his home at 32 Carrick Avenue in Hamilton, Ontario. His wife, Evelyn, was arrested and convicted of his murder but the conviction was later overturned. She was later convicted of another unrelated charge and was released from prison in 1958. Her whereabouts are unknown. John Dick was buried at the First Mennonite Church in Vineland, Ontario.
