Located approximately 800 metres from where his body was found, August 10 1886, there is a memorial cairn celebrating poet, Joseph’s Scriven’s poem ‘Pray Without Ceasing’ which is now more commonly known as the song “What a friend we have in Jesus”
The cairn is located on the east side of Rice Lake Drive not far from the hamlet of Bewdley, Ontario on the shores of Rice Lake.
The cairn is 13 miles away from Scriven’s final resting place in the Pengelley.
