Poet, Phillips Stewart (Thomas Brown Phillips Stewart) was born in July/August 1865. His only book of poetry "Poems" was published in 1887. As a young man he travelled to the United States to visit the great gray ghost, Walt Whitman.
He died in February 2, 1892, in Toronto, Ontario,age 27. He is buried on a hill in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in Toronto, Ontario. Like his name on the grave, so too are his words etched on three sides of his grave, vanishing.
